Natalie Hernandez fell in love with aphids while studying aphid species composition and it’s effects on the spread of Potato Virus Y in Wisconsin for her M. Sc. The group is a challenge to work with since it is not well known. As new molecular tools become available, more and more can be learned about the diversity of the family Aphididae as she works on a Ph. D.
